MARK GOLDTHORP AS MOULDENFLY
Mark Goldthorp has been a professional actor for twenty-six years. Mark has recently finished the UK tour of Sister Act playing bad-boy Curtis Jackson. Mark also appeared in the Sam Mendes film Empire of Light earlier this year.
On stage, Mark has played Park Keeper / Mr Banks in Mary Poppins (Prince Edward); Sheldrake in Sunset Blvd (Coliseum), Doctor/ Escapologist in Matilda (Cambridge Theatre), the Steward in Olivier award-winning Into the Woods (Regent’s Park), Nicky/Trekkie Monster in Avenue Q (Noel Coward/Gielgud), The Drowsy Chaperone (Original London Cast, Novello), The Woman in White (Original Cast, Palace), Claquesous in Les Miserables (Palace/Sondheim).
Mark was delighted to be cast as the ballroom instructor in the 2023 film Empire Of Light. Other TV/Film includes Distanced, Mamma Mia Here We Go Again, Sound of Music LIVE! Skins, Touch Me I’m Karen Taylor, The Sarah Jane Adventures, My Family, West End Weakest Link, This Morning, Eggheads, Royal Variety Performance, and the Olivier Awards.
As a composer Mark won the Julian Slade song-writing competition two years running. He then wrote his first review show Beans On Toast Again! which was performed at The Bellairs Playhouse and subsequently at the Electric Theatre in Guildford. Mark’s original play All Things Nice premiered at The White Bear Theatre in London. Mark has directed and written a number of original plays and short films which have been filmed in collaboration with his company Two Bob Films. Mark’s series Distanced (short films set during lockdown) was nominated for an OFFIE AWARD in 2020 and is available on Youtube. Mark also released his first album The Space Between available on all streaming platforms.
Mark’s voice can be heard on numerous campaigns/narration/video games and dubbing most notably as the dog Moose in the long-running Clearscore campaign, The Empress (Netflix) Snickers, Thatchers Gold, Ancestry DNA, Hansons, DHL, Dragon age inquisition, TK Maxx. Sarah Beeny Escape To The Country, Dr Oetker.
Mark fell in love with magic at the age of ten and has performed as magician and consultant for many years. Mark was an illusion consultant for the West End productions of Harry Potter & the Cursed Child and Big The Musical. Mark is also a member of The Magic Circle.
