Jamie Alexander Wilson as Abanazar
Having spent a decade as writer, director and occasional understudy of the pantomimes at the Stag Theatre Sevenoaks, Jamie has finally written himself a part in the show, so he can mess around with his mates on stage this Christmas.
Jamie’s very first appearance in pantomime was the title role in Aladdin in Peterborough, aged 19. He spent fifteen years playing principal boy and then comic, in pantomimes all over the country, before gracefully retiring to work behind the scenes as a producer, writer and director.
But the showman in Jamie has refused to die, and so he now spends much of the year splashing about on the rivers of Europe as a Cruise Director, and singing in his own jazz band, Major To Minor.
The old adage ‘the show must go on’ has proved very real when various mishaps have required Jamie to go on as Jack in Jack And The Beanstalk, Nurse Nellie in Robin Hood, the title role and a Gospel Singer in Dick Whittington, with only a few hours notice. This year Jamie is giving himself a little more rehearsal time, playing the evil Abaanzar in Aladdin.
