Danny Beard as the Spirit of London
Danny Beard is a Liverpool born Cabaret Performer, Singer and Presenter, and has a1st Class Hons Degree in Contemporary Performance from The University of Salford.
In the Summer of 2015 Danny Beard became know for winning Drag Idol UK, the biggest search in the UK for a new cabaret star. After winning, Danny went on to tour in over 20 of the best cabaret venues all over the UK, and continues to tour his own show up and down the country every week of the year.
2016 saw Danny competing in the live semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent. His first audition went viral globally, and he gained thousands of new followers overnight. Danny was branded by David Walliams as a ‘Super Star’, and even made national newspaper headlines by turning Simon Cowell around with his energetic rendition of ‘Sweet Transvestite’ from the ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’.
Throughout 2017, we have seen Danny Beard diversify and grow, from working as a Social Media Influencer, to performing at international Pride events, corporate gigs, and stage appearances across the UK. He has even been able to work with anti-bullying charities close to his heart, such as ‘The Ben Cohen Stand Up Foundation’, and ‘Bullying UK’. This year Danny won several awards including ‘Best National Cabaret Act 2017’ from the largest Free LGBT Magazine in the UK.
Last year Danny made his panto debut as the Magical Mirror in Snow White at the Stag Theatre, a role which won him a nomination for Best Newcomer at the Great British Pantomime Awards. Danny is thrilled to be returning to Sevenoaks this Christmas, to play the Spirit of London in Dick Whittington. You can follow Danny across all social media @thedannybeard
