Raising Money for Charity
This year, the Sevenoaks Panto team are supporting two charities; The Royal Variety Charity, and Sevenoaks Powerchair Football Club.
The Royal Variety Charity
Two of Sevenoaks Panto’s alumni have benefited from the services of the Royal Variety Charity. Tony Haygarth, following a Dementia diagnosis, and Leslie Grantham, at the end of a long battle with cancer, were both residents of care homes run by the organisation. Both actors were regularly on the Stag’s stage, and great friends of the producers and actors who make up our ‘panto family’.
Peter Hinton from the Royal Variety Charity said...
“The Royal Variety Charity assists those who've worked professionally in the entertainment industry and are in need of help. The charity strives to support all those, both young and old, who've worked on the stage, in the wings, in front of a camera, or behind it.
The vast majority of actors live from 'job-to-job', from 'season-to-season' - many spending long periods with no work at all & with little ability to make any plans for their futures, or providing themselves with any security should they have an accident, or fall ill.
It's so ironic that many entertainers and those working behind the scenes in entertainment, spend much of their working lives raising funds for other charities, but giving little thought to their own future, security, or situation. Whether it be as a result of old age, ill health or financial hardship, the Royal Variety Charity is here to help.”
The Royal Variety do amazing work, and provide excellent care for those in need. This year, the cast of Sevenoaks Panto will be supporting the charity. Ain’t nothing but a family thing...
Sevenoaks Powerchair Football Club
This year, the Mayor Of Sevenoaks’ chosen charity is Sevenoaks Powerchair Football Club. This amazing organisation runs right in the heart of our community, and this year the cast of Sevenoaks Panto will be supporting the amazing work they do.

“Sevenoaks Powerchair Football Club are Kent's premier powerchair football club. We provide people with severe physical disabilities with the opportunity to play football using powered wheelchairs.
We are delighted to be supported by the team behind Sevenoaks Panto this year. We feel integrated across both Sevenoaks’ sporting environment and the town as a whole, which is a credit to everyone involved. We look forward to working with the pantomime cast on an enjoyable and successful season.”
And we’re looking forward to helping the club achieve continues sporting success!
